I found that after eating Ami Ebi at the sushi joint, the fried shrimp heads can be made to look like ELVIS (I’ll take a picture next time)…then I bought a book on eBay, that instructs in Japanese, how to make crystal bead chihuahuas (like the kind you might dangle off your cellphone). I don’t know if I will ever make the little beaded chihuahua but the book is nice to look at. Here are the instructions with diagrams:

Here are some easier things to make that don’t require raw fish or foreign language lessons.
DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY (DOD) RATING SCALE
1 “Hey!…this is super easy.”
2 “Hey!…I’m having fun.”
3 “Hey?”
4 “I’m going to try that again.”
5 “Nice (fill in the blank) cat, aardvark, vase, weed.”
DRAW A CHIHUAHUA
Draw this Chihuahua
DOD 2: If you are good at drawing circles, you’ll do well.

3-D CHIHUAHUA
Make a 3D Chihuahua
DOD 3: Trickier than it looks. Good scissors and a decent printer will help.

CERAMIC CHIHUAHUA
Buy this ready-to-paint ceramic chihuahua
DOD 1 or 5: This depends on how good you are on eBay.

CHIHUAHUA TOPIARY
Start your own chihuahua topiary from Country Gardens.
DOD 5: Green thumb required.

Here’s one from Chris’ Topiary Nursery.
I’m ordering this one for my garden! I’ll let you know how it is.
PHOTOSHOP ELVIS
Refer to the PHOTOSHOP ELVIS blog and see the results! Just drag and drop the image of ELVIS onto your desktop.
DOD 5: Must have Photoshop installed on your computer.

The chihuahua crafts are great. My 9 year-old daughter loves dogs. Her favorite breed is the chihuahua. They’re fun crafts.
